And by February, most people have given up.
The cycle never ends because the system never works. Not because you lack discipline, but because you cannot fix what needs to be buried. You cannot improve your way into transformation. You cannot willpower yourself into newness of life.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ does not call you to a “new you.”
It calls you to be born again. The old self buried, a new creation raised to walk in newness of life.
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4
Whether you are hearing this for the first time or you are a believer who has drifted back into self-reliance, the answer is the same:
Look unto Jesus.
